Child protection conferences and looked after and accommodated reviews

Children who are looked after and accommodated should not normally be placed or remain on the child protection register. However, it is recognised that there may be some circumstances where this should be considered, e.g. where there are concerns about contact with family members.

If it is likely that a decision will be made at a looked after review to return a child who has been abused back home, the Child Protection Review Co-ordinator must be alerted timeously by the team leader so that he/she can make arrangements to chair the looked after review and subsequent child protection conference.
