When a child’s name is placed on the child protection register

If a child’s name is placed on the child protection register a child protection plan must be formulated at the Initial child protection case conference.

If a child’s name is placed on the child protection register the case must be allocated to a named qualified social worker who has completed the basic child protection course. The team leader responsible for the case must also be named.

The co-ordinator, children services must ensure notification of all registrations to the central child protection register held by standby and also to the keeper of the local register (local authority) immediately after the child protection conference. See Form CP13.

A copy of the form CP1, if it has not already been sent, and, if possible, a record of the decisions of the child protection conference should be faxed to standby immediately after registration is notified.
