The team leader should be mindful of the demanding nature of the work and monitor workload accordingly.
The team leader should meet with the investigating social worker and police officer on an ongoing basis to review progress, decide on the number of further interviews and offer support. The team leader should keep the co-ordinator, children service briefed on progress.
The team leader should debrief social work staff after the interviews/investigations.
The team leader must take appropriate measures to ensure the protection of staff where violence to staff has been identified as an issue where there are concerns about the immediate safety of the child.
